ANODISATION
This is a process we offer at Ninjaflower.
Anodising is the electrolytic passivation process used to increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of metal parts. Running electricity through the jewellery while it rests in the right solution changes the molecules at the surface. The process alters the outer layer of the metal, changing the way it filters and reflects light and enhancing its colour in beautiful ways!
No matter what colour the titanium is anodised, the structure of the metal doesn't change.The jewellery is not dyed, painted on or plated.
However with the natural oils from our skin along with any products we use can effect the anodisation and cause it to fade not instantly but over time.
Ninjaflower has an in house anodiser and we can achieve most colours (although green and any multi colour would have to be special ordered).
We place the jewellery into an electrolyte solution and set the anodiser to the voltage needed to achieve the desired colour, run the electric current through the jewellery until it reaches the desired colour.
To keep the colour as vibrant as possible its best to avoid contact with harsh chemicals - for example -swimming pools with chlorine, hair dye, perfume and products with a lot of fragrence.
